SOAS International Academic Excellence Scholarship

You get a one-off 5,000 EUR (£5,000) cut in your tuition fees for one academic year. This is a fee waiver, so the amount comes off your fees. You do not receive it as cash. SOAS University of London (School of Oriental and African Studies) awards 10 of these scholarships each year to students worldwide with top grades.

Who can apply

• Fee status: You pay the higher overseas (international) tuition rate for students from outside the UK.
• Study level: You have applied for an undergraduate degree at SOAS starting in September 2026.
• Offer: You have a study offer from SOAS, or receive one by 31 May 2026.
• Grades: You have achieved or are predicted to achieve AAB in UK A-Levels or the equivalent in your country.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Field of study: Any undergraduate subject at SOAS.

How to apply

Apply through an online form by 31 May 2026. A selection panel reviews applicants who hold an offer, and you hear back by 1 July 2026. You can apply for several SOAS scholarships and discounts, but only one counts against your fees, so you keep the highest-value one.

How realistic are your chances?

Only 10 of these scholarships go out each year, and the award is open to strong applicants worldwide, so the field is competitive. The grade bar narrows it: you need AAB or the equivalent, achieved or predicted. If you clearly meet that mark, hold a SOAS offer and apply before the deadline, you are in genuine contention.
