About this scholarship

DiSCo Lazio international mobility grant

You get up to 510 EUR per month on top of your regular scholarship while you study or do an internship abroad, for up to 10 months. If you already receive an Erasmus grant or money from a bilateral agreement, that amount is subtracted. For example, with a 310 EUR Erasmus grant, your top-up is 200 EUR. You can also claim back travel costs of up to 150 EUR for the round trip, if your university has not already covered them. The grant comes from DiSCo, the public body of the Lazio region in Italy that runs student support. It is paid in one lump sum after you return.

Who can apply

  • University: You are enrolled at a university or higher-education institution based in the Lazio region of Italy.
  • Study level: You are a bachelor's, master's, single-cycle master's, PhD or specialisation-school student. You cannot apply if you are a PhD student who already gets a scholarship, or a medical specialist with your own pay.
  • Going abroad: You take part in an exchange or internship abroad organised by your home university, whether EU-funded (such as Erasmus) or not.
  • Income: Your ISEE (a measure of your family's income and assets) is at most 27,948.60 EUR, and your ISPE (assets only) at most 60,757.87 EUR.
  • Grades: If you are past your first year, you must have earned the number of ECTS credits set out in the call, counted on 10 August.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply, including international students.

How to apply

You do not apply separately. When you fill in the online application for the yearly "Bando Diritto allo Studio" (the region's student-support call), you also tick "Contributo per la mobilità internazionale" under the Benefits section, at the same time as your scholarship request. For the 2025/2026 round the application window ran from 10 June to 22 July 2025, with a final deadline of 11 August 2025 at 12:00. You can apply even if your exchange place is not yet confirmed.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is limited to students at Lazio universities who meet the income limits and are going abroad, so the eligible group is fairly narrow. The money is split: 90% is reserved for students beyond their first year and only 10% for first-year master's and PhD students. Payment also depends on available funds. If you clearly fit the income and grade requirements and apply within the window, your prospects are reasonable.
