What you get

The scholarship covers your full tuition fees plus living costs for one year of a Master’s programme, either the first or the second year. The funding is provided by the UniCredit Foundation, the charitable arm of the UniCredit banking group. The scholarship is linked to the MSc in Economics or the MSc in Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) in Sweden, a two-year programme taught in English. As only one student is selected per partner university, the SSE awards a single scholarship each year.

Who can apply

• Programme: You are applying for the Master’s programme in ‘Economics’ or the Master’s programme in ‘Finance’ at the Stockholm School of Economics.
• Where you are from: You come from one of the 13 countries in Central or Eastern Europe where UniCredit operates, including Austria, Germany, Italy and Poland.
• Grades: Only the best admitted students will be put forward. Selection is based solely on your academic performance.

How to apply

There is no separate scholarship application form. You must apply for the MSc programme via the SSE’s online admissions portal by the deadline. The SSE will then draw up a shortlist of the best-qualified applicants, and the UniCredit Foundation will select the winner. For the 2025/26 round, you could apply from 27 January to 31 October 2025.

How realistic are your chances?

Only one scholarship is awarded to the SSE each year, and as applicants from 13 countries apply for this highly selective Master’s programme in Economics, competition is fierce. Scholarship recipients are selected from among the best-qualified students. Your first step, therefore, is to qualify for the programme by achieving outstanding academic results. If your grades place you among the top performers in this group, you have a real chance.
