About this scholarship

What you get

You get a tuition fee discount of about EUR 2,300 to EUR 3,500 per year (£2,000 to £3,000) for up to four years of your Bachelor's degree at Cardiff University in Wales. The exact amount depends on your grades in the Cardiff University International Study Centre (ISC) preparation programme, the course that gets international students ready for a UK degree. Everyone who passes and moves on to an eligible degree gets £2,000 per year. You get £3,000 per year if you scored 75% or higher in the International Foundation Year, or 70% or higher in the International Year One. The award is paid only as a discount on your tuition fees, not as cash.

Who can apply

  • Your path: You are finishing a Cardiff University ISC preparation programme (International Foundation Year or International Year One) in 2025/26 and moving on to a Bachelor's degree there.
  • Offer: You hold an offer for an eligible Cardiff Bachelor's degree starting in September 2026, and you meet its entry conditions by 7 September 2026.
  • Field of study: Any Cardiff Bachelor's programme except Dentistry, Medicine and Healthcare.
  • Study mode: Full-time, on the Cardiff campus. It does not cover placement years, industry years, years abroad or repeat years.
  • Fee status: You count as an international (overseas) fee-paying student.
  • Funding: You pay for your own studies. You cannot already hold another scholarship, bursary or discount, and no government, NGO or company can pay your fees directly. An education loan is fine.

How to apply

There is no separate application. If you hold an offer for an eligible degree and meet all the conditions, you get the scholarship automatically when you enrol. The amount is set by your final confirmed ISC grades.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is not a competition. It is aimed only at students moving from Cardiff's own ISC programme into one of its degrees. If you pass your ISC year, keep your offer conditions and meet the fee and self-funding rules, you receive it automatically. Score 75% (IFY) or 70% (IY1) and the higher £3,000 rate follows on your grades alone.
