Programa InMotion (Inditex-UDC) grant

You get 3,000 to 8,000 EUR for a research stay abroad of about three months (at least 90 days), carried out during 2026. The exact amount depends on where you go: 3,000 EUR for Portugal or Andorra, 5,500 EUR for the rest of Europe, Latin America or Africa, and 8,000 EUR for the USA, Canada, Asia or Oceania. This covers a daily living allowance for up to 90 days plus a 125 EUR insurance package. Travel costs are not included. The money lets you complete part of your doctorate abroad so you can earn the 'international mention' on your PhD, an official note that part of the research was done outside Spain. The clothing company Inditex funds the programme in full, with a total budget of 130,000 EUR for the 2026 round.

Who can apply

• Level: You are enrolled full time in a doctoral (PhD) programme at the University of A Coruña (UDC) in the 2025/26 academic year.
• Link to UDC: You have an active contract with the UDC that runs throughout your stay abroad.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply. If you are not Spanish and want to go to your home country, or a country where you previously studied or worked, you must explain that choice to the selection committee.
• Disability: 5% of the funds are reserved for applicants with a recognised disability of 33% or more.

How to apply

You apply between 5 and 22 December 2025 through the UDC electronic register, or in person at a UDC office in A Coruña or Ferrol. A committee of UDC and Inditex representatives reviews the applications, mainly on the strength of your academic record. They then publish a provisional list and a final list of awards.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is cut narrowly. You must already be a full-time PhD student at the University of A Coruña with an active contract there, so only students at that one university can apply. The 2026 round funds 24 stays, and applicants are judged mainly on their academic record. If you meet the conditions, have a host institution ready and apply within the short December window, your prospects are solid.
