About this scholarship

What you get

The University of Chichester's Financial Support Package pays a bursary of about 1,150 EUR (1,000 GBP) over your three-year degree. You get roughly 460 EUR (400 GBP) in year 1, and about 345 EUR (300 GBP) in each of years 2 and 3. This is a grant, not a loan, so you never pay it back. If you are a care leaver (someone who spent time in the care system as a child or young person), you get an extra bursary of about 345 EUR (300 GBP) per year on top. This extra grant does not affect any other funding you receive. The university also runs a separate Support Fund for students who run into money trouble during their studies.

Who can apply

  • Degree level: You are starting the first year of an undergraduate course (including a foundation degree).
  • When you start: Your studies begin in September 2026.
  • Where you study: You study full time at the University of Chichester (Bishop Otter Campus in Chichester or Bognor Regis Campus).
  • Nationality: You are a UK (home) student.
  • Financial need: You get the main bursary if you were eligible for Free School Meals at school. Care leavers get the extra care-leaver bursary.

How to apply

You do not fill in a separate application for the main bursary. The university checks your UCAS application data, works out who is eligible, and tells you at the start of your studies. If you are a care leaver, contact the Care Leavers Coordinator directly for the additional bursary.

How realistic are your chances?

This is an automatic entitlement, not a contest. If you are a new UK undergraduate at Chichester who qualified for Free School Meals, you receive the bursary without competing against anyone. There are no places to run out of, so the only thing that matters is meeting the criteria. If you are a care leaver, contact the coordinator so your extra bursary is set up.
