About this scholarship
International Merit-Based Scholarship (Kingston University London)
You get 5,000 GBP off your first-year tuition (about 5,800 EUR) at Kingston University London in the UK. It is a direct reduction of your tuition. If you pay upfront, 5,000 GBP is taken off the total. If you pay in instalments, it comes off your last one. The award covers the first year only. It comes from Kingston University itself and goes to a small number of international students each round. You also join the Kingston International Scholars Community, with a yearly event alongside university leaders and academics, plus networking and the chance to work as a student ambassador.
Who can apply
- Degree level: You are starting a Bachelor's degree or a taught Master's (or similar postgraduate course) at Kingston University.
- Offer in hand: You already hold an offer letter for the January or September intake.
- Not yet enrolled: You are not already studying a degree or foundation course at Kingston University.
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities, as long as you pay overseas (international) fees.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- Merit, not need: You are judged on your academic results, your motivation and your future plans. No proof of income is required.
How to apply
You fill in an online form. You add your offer letter, a 300-word personal statement on why you want to study at Kingston and what you want to do afterwards, and a one-minute video introducing yourself. The form usually opens in March and October each year. A university panel reviews the written entries and notifies winners by email. Applications are not first come, first served, so take your time on the documents.
How realistic are your chances?
Only a few of these scholarships are given per round, and Kingston is open to all nationalities and subjects, so the applicant pool is wide and the competition is real. Selection rests on your personal statement and video, not grades alone. A clear, well-prepared case for why you fit Kingston counts for more than applying early.
