About this scholarship
What you get
You get a one-off 440 EUR for a work placement abroad during your vocational studies, no matter how long the placement lasts. You can add a 200 EUR bonus if you receive a French state grant based on social criteria, and another 200 EUR if you have a recognised disability. You can combine both bonuses, so the total can reach 840 EUR. The money comes from the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region and supports school students who do a work placement in another country.
Who can apply
- Where you study: You attend a lycee (upper secondary school) in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region. This can be public, private under state contract, or a rural family school (MFR).
- Your programme: You are preparing a CAP, a Bac pro, a BTS or a DNMADE, all vocational or technical qualifications.
- The placement: You do a work placement abroad of at least 21 whole, consecutive calendar days.
- Where you go: Any country except France, its overseas territories, Monaco and Andorra.
- How often: You can get this grant only once per study cycle.
- Not eligible: Apprentices in a CFA (apprentice training centre).
How to apply
You apply yourself through the region's online grant portal (aides.auvergnerhonealpes.fr). You can submit from the day after your placement abroad starts, and no later than one month after it ends.
How realistic are your chances?
This grant is cut narrowly: you must study at a lycee in the region, be on a specific vocational track, and complete a placement of at least three weeks abroad. It is not a competition, so students who clearly meet the criteria and apply within the deadline have good prospects. Submit as soon as your placement begins so you do not miss the one-month window.
