LPDP-Netherlands Joint Scholarship Programme

You get a full scholarship for a master's degree at a Dutch university, funded for up to 24 months. It covers your tuition, registration and book costs, a monthly living allowance, travel and visa costs, health insurance, an arrival allowance, and support for thesis research, seminars and journal publications. The exact monthly living amount is not published. The scholarship is run jointly by Indonesia's education endowment fund LPDP (part of the Finance Ministry) and the Dutch government. It targets mid-career professionals in fields tied to Indonesia's development, such as food security, water, energy and maritime studies.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You are an Indonesian citizen living in Indonesia. Civil servants, military and police staff can also apply.
• Degree so far: You have finished a bachelor's or D4 degree and do not yet hold a master's degree.
• Where you study: You take a full-time, English-taught master's degree at one of the listed Dutch universities.
• Field of study: You choose one of the eligible programmes, mostly in food security, agriculture, water, energy, maritime studies, engineering and related subjects.
• Grades: Your bachelor's GPA is at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.
• English: You have a TOEFL iBT of at least 90 or IELTS of at least 6.5, taken within the last two years.
• Age: You are at most 35 years old on 31 December of the application year.
• Return commitment: You agree to return to Indonesia after your studies and work there for twice the length of your degree (four years after a two-year master's).

How to apply

You apply in two parallel steps. First, apply to your chosen Dutch university for an unconditional Letter of Acceptance. Second, apply online to LPDP under the "Beasiswa Prioritas" category. For the 2026 round, registration runs from 22 January to 23 February 2026. After that come an administrative check and a substantive selection stage. Results are announced on 22 June 2026, and studies start from August 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut narrowly. Only Indonesian citizens under 35 with a strong GPA, a solid English test and a place in one of a fixed list of Dutch programmes qualify, and you must commit to returning to Indonesia. That keeps the field focused rather than wide open. If you clearly meet these conditions, secure your university acceptance and apply within the tight registration window, your prospects are solid.
