NTU Excellence Scholarships

You get money off your tuition fees at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in the United Kingdom, worth 25% or 50% off your first year. You do not receive cash. The discount comes straight off your fee once you enrol. The 50% award saves you between £9,150 and £12,500 (about 10,600 to 14,500 EUR) in the first year. The 25% award saves between £4,525 and £6,250 (about 5,300 to 7,300 EUR). The exact figure depends on your course. If you study for a Bachelors degree, you also get £3,000 (about 3,500 EUR) off the fee in each later year. NTU decides the award on the strength of your application, meaning your grades plus a short essay.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You have an offer to start a full-time Bachelors or Masters at NTU. Research degrees do not count.
• New start: You are enrolling in the first year of a new course, or in year 2 or 3 if you join an undergraduate course partway through. Students already at NTU cannot apply.
• Fee status: You are an international student, classed as an "overseas" student for fee purposes. UK students cannot apply.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Field of study: Most subjects qualify, from architecture, engineering and sciences to business, law, art and design. A few courses are excluded, including some LLM and social work programmes and most PGCE courses.
• No other full funding: You cannot apply if your fees are already paid by an employer, a government or another funding body.

How to apply

First get an offer for an NTU course. Then fill in the single online application form, including the scholarship essay. The essay must be your own writing, not generated by AI. For the January 2027 start there are two deadlines: 30 September 2026 and a final one on 31 October 2026 at 16:00 GMT. You hear the decision within five weeks of your deadline. There is no interview.

How realistic are your chances?

These awards are competitive and decided purely on your application. Grades alone will not secure one, so a clear, well-argued essay is what sets applicants apart. NTU awarded over 1,400 scholarships last year across its scheme, which helps your odds, but the 50% and 25% tiers are the most sought-after. Apply by the earlier deadline while more awards remain.
