About this grant / loan

Akademia Liderów Energii (Energy Leaders Academy)

You get a free three-month training programme for young people who want a career in the energy sector, run by the PAGA Foundation in Warsaw. Over about five weekend sessions (Friday to Sunday, every two weeks, more than 65 hours in total) you work on real case studies from the energy industry. You also attend workshops led by experts from major energy companies and build professional contacts. The programme ends with a public finale where teams present their solutions to partners and experts. Instead of cash, you get free access to expert knowledge, an alumni network of over 420 former participants, and possible internship and job openings. Travel to Warsaw, weekend accommodation and lunch are not covered.

Who can apply

  • Study phase: You are a student or a graduate.
  • Age: You are at least 19 and not yet 27 on the day you apply.
  • Field of study: Open to any subject. Subjects like energy, engineering, law, finance, economics, management, journalism, international relations or environmental protection fit especially well.
  • Language: The programme runs in Polish, so you need to follow it and take part in Polish.
  • Commitment: You can attend every weekend session and the finale, and you want to stay active in the alumni community afterwards.
  • Attitude: The foundation looks for leadership, initiative, teamwork and a genuine interest in the energy sector.

How to apply

You apply once a year through an online form. No CV is needed. Up to 70 applicants are invited to a second round with an interview and a knowledge test, and a maximum of 30 people are accepted.

How realistic are your chances?

Places are limited to 30 per year and selection runs in two rounds, so competition is real. Your prospects are best if you can show a clear interest in energy, leadership and teamwork, and if you are free for every weekend session in Warsaw. Since no CV is needed in the first round, how you present your motivation matters more than a long list of credentials.
