About this grant / loan
Benefit
You get help to turn your own project into reality. This includes hands-on coaching to plan and run it, plus material or money support depending on what the project needs. The city also gives you visibility: rooms to use, a spot on the city website and exposure at events. This is a one-off project grant, not a monthly student grant. You name the amount you ask for yourself in the application form. The city does not publish a fixed figure and never covers 100% of a project, so you need other funds too.
Eligibility
- Age: You are between 15 and 30 years old.
- Link to Angers: You live in Angers, work regularly there, or study on the Angers campus, and your project takes place in Angers.
- Income: No income limit. Your family's earnings do not matter.
- Your project: You came up with it yourself, alone or as a group or association.
- What it must do: It benefits the people of Angers or the local area, or it supports an international solidarity cause. It must also be something new.
- Not allowed: Projects done for a school grade or vocational training, ongoing projects, projects run by a national organisation, and anything aimed at making a profit.
- One per year: If you already got Label J money this year, you cannot apply again.
How to apply
You fill in the application file and email it to the City of Angers youth department. You can apply all year round, as there is no fixed deadline. A project advisor can help you put the file together, and the youth department reviews it.
How realistic are your chances?
This is a local award open only to young people connected to Angers, so the pool of applicants is small and there is no income barrier. If you are 15 to 30, based in Angers, and can show a genuine, new project that helps the local community, your prospects are good. A clear plan and a realistic budget matter most, since the city funds part, not all, of your project.
