About this scholarship
Erasmus+ mobility grant at the Polytechnic of Castelo Branco
You will receive a monthly grant to spend part of your studies abroad, for up to 12 months per academic cycle. The amount depends on where you are going and whether you are studying or undertaking an internship. For a study placement, the grant ranges from around 400 EUR per month in countries with a lower cost of living to 500 EUR per month in countries with a higher cost of living, such as Germany, France, Italy or the Netherlands. For an internship, the funding is higher, ranging from around 550 EUR to 650 EUR per month. Students receiving state funding (DGES) are also entitled to an additional 250 EUR per month. There are also supplementary allowances for students with disabilities or from disadvantaged backgrounds. If you travel by bus, train or bicycle, you’ll receive a one-off ‘Green Travel’ bonus of 50 EUR as well as additional travel days. You’ll also receive free online language courses. The scholarship is administered by Castelo Branco University of Applied Sciences in Portugal.

How to apply
Applications must be submitted via the ‘IPCB MobilidadeNet’ online platform by 18 January 2026. Once you have been accepted, you will sign a mobility agreement and a learning agreement with the international coordinator at your home university and the host institution.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is aimed exclusively at students who are already enrolled at Castelo Branco University of Applied Sciences, meaning that the pool of applicants is limited to this single institution. Erasmus+ is a well-funded programme, not a single grant awarded on a competitive basis. If you meet the language proficiency requirements and submit a sound study plan in good time, your chances are good. Decide on your host university and your study plan early on and apply by the deadline in January.
