Universidade Politécnica de Tomar - Emergency Support for students with financial problems

Benefit

You will receive a one-off payment of up to 20% of the reference grant, which is the standard student grant amount used as a benchmark in Portugal. You may also be eligible for pro-rata contributions towards accommodation and travel costs. This is emergency financial assistance, not a monthly grant. It is intended to help with sudden, serious financial difficulties during the academic year. The funds come from the Social Services Department (SAS) of the Universidade Politécnica de Tomar, formerly the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar.

Eligibility

• University: You are enrolled at the Universidade Politécnica de Tomar (IPT) in Tomar or Abrantes.
• Financial need: You are facing a serious financial problem that has arisen during the academic year.
• Not covered elsewhere: Your case cannot be dealt with under the standard procedure for awarding student grants.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Applications are made through the University’s Social Services (SAS). There is no fixed deadline. You can submit an application at any time during the academic year as soon as an emergency arises.
