Fulbright Portugal - Fulbright scholarships

General Description

The Fulbright scholarships are the result of a partnership between Portugal and the United States of America, which promotes student exchange for mutual understanding of the two cultures. The diplomatic agreement was established in 1960 and students or teachers who want to travel to the US must fulfill a series of requirements in order to be eligible for a Fulbright scholarship. Each scholarship has a yearly value of $25,000, with the possibility of another $6,000 to be awarded to masters and doctors in their final years of study.

Requirements

Fulbright scholarships can be accessed by students who have completed at least their first year of study. If a student already completed a 3-year course, they need to attend another year of a Master or post-graduate program. Students need to have a weighted degree average of at least 14 points.

Excellent command of English language is a must, this being proven with either TOEFL or IELTS tests results that average higher than 100, respectively 7.
