Oliveira do Hospital Municipality - Higher Education Scholarship for students living in Oliveira do Hospital

Benefit

You will receive an annual grant to help you fund your university studies. It amounts to approximately 194 EUR per student. The money comes from the municipality of Oliveira do Hospital, the local council in Central Portugal. The local authority has allocated a total budget of 60,000 EUR for the 2025/2026 academic year and will distribute this amount amongst the admitted students. The exact amount you receive depends on how many students are admitted, as well as your household income. The aim is to ensure that no young resident has to drop out of higher education for financial reasons.

Eligibility

• Where you live: You have been living in the municipality of Oliveira do Hospital for at least 3 years.
• Level: You are enrolled in higher education and do not yet hold a completed higher education degree.
• Where you study: You are attending a recognised public, private or cooperative higher education institution. This may be located either within or outside Oliveira do Hospital.
• Field of study: Any topic is fine.
• Financial need: Your household income per person is no more than 80% of the national minimum wage.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Complete the city council’s application form, then date and sign it, and enclose the required documents. Send it by email or post, or hand it in at the city council’s One-Stop Shop (Balcão Único). The deadline for round 2025/2026 is 9 December. Incomplete applications may be rejected.
