Póvoa de Lanhoso Municipality - Higher Education Scholarship for students living in Póvoa de Lanhoso

Benefit

You will receive a monthly cash allowance for the duration of the academic year, i.e. approximately 10 months. The amount depends on where you are studying: 100 EUR per month if your university is located outside the district of Braga, or 60 EUR per month if it is within the district. If you are an active member of the Póvoa de Lanhoso Volunteer Fire Brigade (Bombeiros Voluntários) or the local Red Cross, the grant will be increased by 25%. The funding comes from the Póvoa de Lanhoso Town Council (Câmara Municipal da Póvoa de Lanhoso), which awards these grants every year to help local students continue their studies.

Eligibility

• Where you live: You live in the municipality of Póvoa de Lanhoso.
• Level of study: You are studying at a state-recognised higher education institution. This may be a public, private or co-operative institution.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Age: No age limit.
• Financial need: Your household income per person is low. The city council has raised the income threshold in recent years in order to reach more families.
• Grades: You can provide evidence of your academic performance, for example by showing your average mark or a school report.

How to apply

You should submit your application in person at the one-stop shop (Balcão Único) at Póvoa de Lanhoso Town Hall. There, you will hand in the official application form and the required documents. The deadline for applications for higher education is 31 October.
