The Nordic Africa Institute - Scholarships for PhD candidates

General Description

The Nordic Africa Institute wishes to encourage research and studies on Africa in the Nordic countries. One or two months scholarships are awarded for use of the institute's library. The scholarships cover travel expenses to and from Uppsala. The scholarships cover a shared office and free accommodation while in Uppsala.

Requirements

Application is open for PhD candidates at universities and research centres awarding doctoral degrees in social sciences and humanities in the Nordic countries. The PhD research should relate to either conflict, security and democratic transformation; urban dynamics; rural and agrarian change, property and resources; or African links.
