Frits and Hedvig Mortensen Commemoration Scholarship

You will receive a grant towards a course of study or a trip abroad. There is no fixed amount. You should state in your application how much you need and attach a budget. The money is intended for a stay or study trip outside Denmark, for example for a course, an educational trip or a development experience. It does not cover living costs, books or study materials for a course of study within Denmark. The grant comes from two joint commemorative foundations, which are administered by the municipality of Langeland on the Danish island of Langeland. They support young people from the island who wish to broaden their horizons abroad.

Who can apply

• Connection to Langeland: You are a young person from the island of Langeland in Denmark.
• Where you go: You travel to a stay or study trip outside Denmark.
• Field of study: Any topic is fine.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply. What matters is your connection to Langeland.
• Who comes first: Priority is given to applicants who were born in the former municipality of Tranekær (as it existed until 2006) or whose parents live there. Second priority is given to other young people from Langeland. The committee also gives preference to applicants who demonstrate a clear commitment to their trip or course, whilst taking your financial situation into account.

How to apply

Please complete the PDF application form provided by the municipality of Langeland and submit it as a PDF file, together with a cost estimate if applicable. The deadline is 31 October each year.
