Captain Kaas' Memorial Scholarship

Captain Kaas' Memorial Scholarship

You get a cash grant towards the cost of your maritime training. There is no fixed amount. The foundation decides it case by case, so it varies from one award to the next. The money comes from the Kaptajn Kaas Mindelegat, a small Danish foundation that helps young people from one village on the island of Langeland train for a career at sea.

Who can apply

• Where you are from: You come from Hou Sogn, a parish on the island of Langeland in Denmark.
• What you train for: You are training to become a navigation officer (styrmand) or ship's captain (skibsfører). Training as a ship's engineer (maskinist) also counts as a second option.
• Who applies: You apply yourself, in your own name.

How to apply

There is no application form. Send your application to the foundation by 1 January. Awards are made on a rolling basis.
