About this scholarship

Aberdeen Global Scholarship (Undergraduate and PGDE)

You get about 6,900 EUR per year (£6,000) off your tuition fees, for every year of your programme. The money is not paid to you. It comes straight off your tuition bill as a partial fee waiver. The University of Aberdeen in Scotland offers it to international students. This covers both those starting a bachelor's degree and those doing the PGDE, the Postgraduate Diploma in Education that qualifies you to become a school teacher.

Who can apply

  • Level: You are starting a full-time undergraduate degree or the PGDE.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects except the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (DPLP), Dentistry and Medicine.
  • Where you study: You study on the Aberdeen campus in person, not by distance learning or at another location.
  • Nationality: Open to students worldwide who pay international tuition fees.
  • Who pays: You fund your studies yourself. You cannot be fully sponsored, hold another fully funded external scholarship, or hold another University of Aberdeen scholarship. The only exception is an award from the University of Aberdeen Development Trust.
  • Timing: You are a new student starting in the 2025/26 or 2026/27 academic year.

How to apply

There is no separate application. When you apply to study, you are checked automatically. Eligible students see the discount in their UCAS offer and their Certificate of Acceptance to Study (CAS). For a 2026/27 start, apply by the standard international deadline of 30 June 2026. You must also firmly accept an unconditional offer and show proof that you fund yourself.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competitive prize you win against others. It is a fixed fee discount that every eligible student receives. If you are a new self-funded international student on a qualifying course at the Aberdeen campus, you get it automatically. Your only real task is meeting the entry conditions and applying by the deadline.
