ASRDLF Young Researchers Scholarship

You will receive 400 EUR as a grant towards the costs of attending the annual ASRDLF colloquium, the annual conference of the Association de Science Régionale De Langue Française (ASRDLF, French-speaking Society for Regional Studies). For 2026, the association awards 8 grants, each amounting to 400 EUR. The funding is awarded to early-career researchers who present their work in the fields of regional and territorial sciences at the conference: economics, geography, spatial planning, urban planning and related social sciences.

Who can apply

• Who you are: You are a PhD student, have just completed your PhD, or are at the start of your academic career.
• Accepted paper: The scientific committee of the ASRDLF Colloquium 2026 has accepted your conference paper. This is the most important requirement.
• Field of study: Your field of research lies within the area of regional studies: economics, social sciences, geography, spatial planning or urban planning.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Please complete the application form for early-career researchers and send your full application documents by email. Please include your personal details, your category, your field of specialism, up to five key publications, the title of your accepted paper, your reasons for applying, and an estimate of the costs involved in attending. The application deadline is 1 April 2026. A committee will then decide who will receive a scholarship.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding scheme is very narrowly defined. You must already have a paper accepted for the ASRDLF Colloquium, which in itself limits the pool to active early-career researchers in the field of regional studies. If your paper is accepted and you clearly fit the profile of a junior researcher, your prospects are good, even though only 8 grants are awarded. A compelling, well-reasoned application is an advantage.
