SFR Training Scholarship (Bourses de Formation)

You will receive the 5,000 EUR for up to 3 months of further training with a radiology team in France. The award is presented by the Société Française de Radiologie (SFR), the French Society of Radiology. It helps young radiologists from abroad to gain practical experience in a French hospital department. Your training must take place between 1 September 2026 and 31 May 2027.

Who can apply

• Qualification: You are a fully qualified radiologist with a university degree.
• Age: You are 35 or younger.
• Membership: You are a member of the SFR.
• Where you go: You are undertaking your training in a radiology department in France and have received a letter of confirmation from the head of that department.
• Nationality: You can apply from any country.

How to apply

Please email a PDF file to the SFR. This should include your application form, confirmation of admission from the French department, two letters of recommendation from heads of the departments where you have worked, a letter of recommendation from your national radiological society, a CV and a brief study plan. The application deadline is 31 May 2026. A panel from the SFR’s International Committee will select the winners. If you are from Algeria, China, Spain, Morocco, Mauritania or Tunisia, please apply at least one month earlier via your national radiological society. The society will carry out a pre-selection of candidates and forward the applications to the SFR.

How realistic are your chances?

The selection criteria for this scholarship are very specific: you must already be a qualified radiologist, be a member of the SFR, be aged 35 years or younger, and have secured a place in a French department before applying. This final step alone results in a significant pre-selection process, as obtaining your own confirmation of registration involves a considerable amount of effort. If you meet these requirements and apply by the deadline, your chances are good, particularly as only radiologists are competing for this position.
