What the French Government scholarship gives you

You will receive a monthly living allowance for 10 months scholarship to study for a Master’s degree in France, funded by the French Embassy in Jordan. In addition to the monthly stipend, the scholarship includes:

• Your tuition fees at a public higher education institution recognised by the French Ministry of Higher Education
• Health insurance for the entire 10 months
• A return economy-class flight between Jordan and France, plus transport to your place of study
• Priority when allocating a room in a student hall of residence

You can study any subject you like. Each year, the Embassy lists a number of preferred fields of study, such as economics, natural sciences, engineering, computer science, languages, tourism and social sciences, but no subject is excluded.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You are a Jordanian citizen.
• Degree level: You hold a bachelor’s degree with a grade of ‘good’ or higher and would like to undertake a master’s degree in France.
• Field of study: Any topic. Whilst certain subject areas may be given preference in a particular year, none are excluded.
• Age: You are no older than 30.
• Language: For a French-taught degree programme, you will need at least a DELF certificate at Level B2. For an English-taught degree programme, you will need an IELTS, TOEFL or TOEIC certificate at the level required for your Master’s programme.
• Study plan: Here you can specify 3 master’s degree programmes for which you wish to enrol or for which you have already pre-enrolled.

How to apply

You should apply by email to the Campus France office in Jordan, submitting a copy of your passport, your CV, your degree certificates and academic transcripts, language certificates and a letter of motivation – all in French or English. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview by the Embassy’s scholarship committee. The scholarship will only be confirmed once you have been admitted to a Master’s programme at a French higher education institution.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship has strict eligibility criteria regarding nationality and age: only Jordanian nationals under the age of 30 with a good bachelor’s degree may apply, meaning that the pool of eligible candidates is small. Selection depends on your grades, a clear study plan and your language skills, all of which will be assessed during an interview. If you meet the criteria, can demonstrate solid grades and a well-reasoned plan, and are offered a place, your prospects look good.
