About this scholarship

Benefit

You get a monthly grant of 400 to 800 EUR gross for a practical placement in research, development and innovation at the University of Murcia (UMU). Part-time placements pay the lower figure, full-time placements the higher one. You work alongside a research group and gain hands-on experience on real projects while you study or after you graduate. Each individual call sets its own exact amount and duration. The programme runs under the university's own research promotion plan (Plan de Fomento de la Investigacion).

Eligibility

  • Where you study: You are a student or graduate of the University of Murcia, attached to one of its research groups.
  • Degree or level: Depending on the call, you are in your final Bachelor's year (Grado), a Master's student, a doctoral candidate or another postgraduate.
  • Field of study: Each call names the exact programmes it is open to, often areas like artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, software engineering, data science or mathematics and computing.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as you meet the requirements of the specific call.

How to apply

You apply through the University of Murcia's online research platform, and a supervising researcher submits the request through their own form. New calls appear throughout the year, each with its own deadline, so the closing date depends on which placement you go for.

How realistic are your chances?

Each call is cut very narrowly: it is tied to one research group, one project and often a single named degree programme, so only a handful of students qualify. If you study the exact field named in a current call at UMU and belong to the right group, competition is small and your prospects are good. Because new calls open all year with short windows, check often and apply quickly.
