About this grant / loan
UPO tutored research contract (B.2)
You get a paid work contract of about 20,875 EUR per year to do research or knowledge-transfer work at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO) in Seville. This is not a classic scholarship. It is a training employment contract, so you are hired and paid to gain real professional experience matched to your level of study. You work under supervision, so it is a guided first step into a research career. The UPO funds around 8 of these contracts each year through its own research plan (VI Plan Propio de Investigación y Transferencia 2023-2026).
Who can apply
- University: You are enrolled in a Master's or doctoral programme at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide.
- Study phase: You are a recent graduate starting out in research, not an established researcher.
- Connection to UPO: You must already be a student at the UPO, since this scheme is only open internally.
- Other funding: You cannot hold this together with another grant, income or aid for the same purpose, whether public or private.
How to apply
Each round is announced internally through the UPO's bulletin (TEO). The application form and deadline are set in each individual call, so watch these announcements. The UPO research committee reviews applications and proposes who is selected to the rector.
How realistic are your chances?
This is a narrow, internal award. Only recent UPO graduates enrolled in a Master's or doctorate can apply, and about 8 contracts are funded each year. If you clearly fit that profile and watch the internal calls so you do not miss the deadline, your prospects are reasonable, since only UPO students can apply rather than the wider public.
