About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a one-off discount of 6,000 GBP (about 6,900 EUR) on your tuition fees for a full-time Master’s programme at Bangor University in Wales. A taught Master’s degree programme (also known as a ‘Postgraduate Taught’ programme) is a one-year programme comprising lectures, seminars and a dissertation, and is therefore distinct from a research-only programme. This amount represents a fee reduction offered by Bangor University, designed to help reduce the costs for international students. If you have previously studied at Bangor University, you can claim the alumni discount of a further 1,000 GBP (approximately 1,150 EUR). Other Bangor University scholarships cannot be combined with this funding.

Who can apply

  • Degree level: You are starting a full-time Master’s degree programme at Bangor University.
  • Field of study: All Master’s programmes that include teaching are eligible.
  • Where you study: The degree programme must be a full-time course of study at the Bangor campus. Online or part-time programmes will not be accepted.
  • Nationality: You are an international student paying international student fees. Applicants from the UK are not eligible to apply.
  • How you pay: You are responsible for paying all or part of your fees yourself. If a third party pays your fees in full, you are not eligible for this grant.
  • Grades and profile: The university makes its decision at its own discretion, based on your choice of degree programme, your academic achievements, your personal statement, your references, your skills and your experience.

How to apply

There is no separate scholarship application form. Any international student who applies for a taught Master’s programme via Bangor University’s online application portal will automatically be considered for a scholarship. You will be informed of the result in your offer letter.

How realistic are your chances?

Your application will automatically be considered, so there is little effort required on your part. Places are allocated at the university’s discretion and are based on your overall profile; therefore, they are not guaranteed. If you are a self-funded international student with strong academic results and a compelling personal statement, your chances are good. A convincing, complete application submitted well in advance offers the best prospects.
