Bourse des Doctorants Moniteurs PhD-ASsociate Scholarship (PASS)

What you get

You get about 650 EUR per month (7,000 Moroccan dirham) for up to three years while you work on your PhD in Morocco. In the 2025-2026 round, 1,200 scholarships were offered. The grant is funded jointly by Morocco's Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and the national research centre CNRST.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You are a Moroccan citizen.
• Study level: You are enrolled in the first year of a PhD at a public Moroccan university.
• Age: You are 26 or younger on 31 December of your enrolment year. If you graduated in human medicine, veterinary medicine or architecture, you can be up to 27.
• Research field: Your thesis fits one of the priority areas. These include water and climate resilience, medical and food biotechnology, health and medical sciences, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, cybersecurity and quantum computing, renewable energy and hydrogen, the blue and green economy, sustainable transport and logistics, geophysics and astrophysics, fundamental sciences, engineering, and humanities and social sciences.

How to apply

You apply online through the CNRST scholarship platform (ebourse.cnrst.ma). The deadline falls in December of each round. A committee reviews the applications, selects the candidates and publishes the results, and contacts the winners by email.

How realistic are your chances?

The pool is large, with 1,200 scholarships in the latest round, but so is the competition, since the award is open to all Moroccan first-year PhD students in a wide range of fields. Your prospects are best if your thesis clearly sits in one of the listed priority areas and you meet the age and enrolment rules exactly. Apply as soon as the annual call opens, because the window is short.
