About this scholarship
What you get
The ESTP (École Spéciale des Travaux Publics, du Bâtiment et de l'Industrie) is a French engineering school for construction and civil engineering. It runs two of its own scholarships that cut your tuition fees.
The top-up scholarship is added on top of your national CROUS student grant. It reduces your fees on a sliding scale based on how much financial help you need. This ranges from 8-12% of tuition in your first year at the lower need levels, up to 50% for students with the greatest need. Top-ranked entrants from certain national exams pay no fees in the first year. For reference, the engineering programme costs 9,950 EUR per year (2026 intake).
The separate excellence scholarship is a one-off award of 1,200 EUR to 4,000 EUR based on your academic results.
Who can apply
- Where you study: You are enrolled in an ESTP bachelor or engineering programme, on any of its campuses (Cachan, Dijon, Orléans, Troyes and others).
- For the top-up scholarship: You already hold a French CROUS state grant (any level). The higher your CROUS need level, the larger the fee reduction.
- For the excellence scholarship: You are in the first or second year of an ESTP bachelor or engineering programme, with strong academic results. All entry routes qualify.
- Field of study: Open to all ESTP fields, including civil engineering, construction, urban planning, public works, geodata and ecological transition.
How realistic are your chances?
The top-up scholarship is close to automatic. If you already hold a CROUS grant and study at ESTP, the fee reduction follows from your need level, and around 30% of ESTP students receive it. The excellence scholarship is smaller and merit-based, limited to first- and second-year students, so it is more competitive. If your results are strong, you have a real shot.
