About this scholarship
What you get
The Cyprus State Scholarship Foundation (CSSF), a state body under the Cypriot Ministry of Finance, awards EUR 6,840 over 12 months to support Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD programmes in Cyprus or abroad.
Who can apply
- Study level: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD programme, or are about to start such a programme.
- Where you study: Your degree programme may take place in Cyprus or at a university abroad.
- Field of study: All participants are eligible to take part.
- Nationality / residence: Nationality alone is not the decisive factor. You meet the requirements if you are a Cypriot citizen, an EU citizen with one Cypriot parent, an EU citizen whose parent lives and works permanently in Cyprus, or if you have completed secondary education in Cyprus and live there permanently.
- Grades: Academic performance is taken into account in the selection process; better grades improve your chances.
- Current CSSF scholars: If you are already receiving an active CSSF scholarship for the same level of study, you do not need to apply again.
How to apply
Apply online via the Cypriot Government’s e-Forms portal. You will need a CY-Login account (the Cypriot Government’s digital ID) before you can begin. The deadline for the 2025/2026 round is 8 April (the application window opened on 16 March 2026). Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
How realistic are your chances?
The admission criteria focus more on links to Cyprus than on a specific nationality, meaning that the pool of applicants is relatively limited. Within this pool, both academic merit and financial need are taken into account – a well-qualified applicant who can demonstrate financial need has a genuine chance of success. Submit your application well in advance; incomplete or late applications will be automatically rejected.
