About this scholarship
What you get
You get a full scholarship of 1,400 EUR per month plus a full waiver of all tuition and participation fees. Over a two-year master's (120 ECTS credits) that adds up to a maximum of 33,600 EUR. The money also covers travel, visa fees and living costs. These are joint international master's programmes run by at least three universities in at least three countries, so you study in several places and finish with either one shared degree certificate or separate certificates from two of the universities. The EU funds the scholarships through Erasmus+. You can also join as a self-paying student if you do not get a scholarship.
Who can apply
- Degree: You already have a bachelor's degree, or you are in your final bachelor year and will finish before the master starts. An officially recognised equivalent level also counts.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects. The Erasmus Mundus catalogue lists programmes across nearly every discipline.
- Nationality: Anyone from any country can apply.
- Grades: You have excellent academic results. Full scholarships go only to the top applicants.
- Where you study: You study at at least two of the participating universities in different countries. At least one must be in an EU country or a country linked to Erasmus+.
How to apply
You apply directly to the individual master's programme, not to the EU. Find the programmes in the Erasmus Mundus catalogue, where each one lists its own entry requirements and deadline. Applications usually run from October to January for the following academic year.
How realistic are your chances?
These programmes are highly selective and draw applicants from all over the world. Each project funds only around 50 to 70 scholarships, so the competition is strong. Good grades are the baseline, not the deciding factor. Pick a programme that fits your background closely, prepare a convincing application, and apply early, since each course sets its own deadline.
