About this scholarship

What you get

You get a one-off emergency payment of up to 1,500 EUR if a serious economic, family or personal setback threatens your ability to keep studying. Part-time students get up to 750 EUR. You can receive it only once in your entire university career, paid by bank transfer or onto a prepaid card. The money comes from ERDIS Marche, the regional student-aid body for the Marche region in Italy. The total pot is limited, so the amount is split proportionally among all eligible applicants until the funds run out.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled at a university or higher-education institution in the Marche region, such as those in Ancona, Camerino, Macerata, Urbino, Pesaro or Fermo. This covers bachelor's, master's, single-cycle master's, art and music academies, two-year specialisation courses and doctoral programmes without a doctoral grant.
  • Enrolment: You are enrolled for the current academic year.
  • Nationality: Open to Italian and international students.
  • Emergency situation: You suffered a documented hardship after 1 January 2023, such as a serious illness, the death or severe illness of a household member, a sudden income loss of over 25 percent, or a natural disaster.
  • Income: Your ISEE (Italy's official household income indicator) is 30,000 EUR or less, and your ISPE (the household asset indicator) is 62,500 EUR or less.
  • Grades: From your second year on, you earned at least 10 credit points (CFU) in the previous academic year.
  • No double funding: You cannot combine this with an ERDIS study scholarship (Borsa di studio), but you may combine it with the ERDIS rent grant.

How to apply

You apply online through the ERDIS student portal, logging in with SPID, CIE or CNS. International students without an Italian ID can register through a simplified process. You upload proof of your hardship and your ISEE certificate. The deadline is 60 days after the call is published (for 2023/2024 the cut-off was 26 August 2024). A commission then reviews the applications.

How realistic are your chances?

This is emergency aid, not an open scholarship. It is aimed only at students in the Marche region facing a documented recent crisis and meeting the income limits. If that describes you and your paperwork is solid, you fit a narrow group with good prospects. Keep in mind the budget is small and shared among all eligible applicants, so you may receive less than the 1,500 EUR maximum. Applying promptly matters.
