About this scholarship

Benefit

You receive a full scholarship for a master's degree in China lasting 2 to 5 years. It covers tuition, a free room on campus, a living allowance of about 390 EUR per month and full health insurance. The master's programme itself takes 2 to 3 years. If your university asks for it, you can add up to 2 years of Chinese language preparation first. You can study in Chinese or, where the university offers it, in English. The scholarship comes from China's Ministry of Education and is run by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). You pay your own flights to and from China.

Eligibility

  • Nationality: You are a citizen of an EU country.
  • Degree: You hold a bachelor’s degree or will be completing one by June or July of the year in which you apply.

  • Other funding: You do not hold another Chinese government scholarship at the same time.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the China Scholarship Council’s application system. The application deadline for the academic year 2026/2027 is 8 February 2026. Please contact your chosen university well in advance, as Chinese universities go on their winter break at the end of January. Only your first choice will be considered. Results are usually announced in July or August.
