About this scholarship

GV-TALENT scholarship

You get a one-off payment of 400, 800 or 1,200 EUR, depending on your family's income. You get 1,200 EUR if it is below the lower income threshold, 800 EUR between the two thresholds, and 400 EUR above the upper one. This is a single payment, not monthly support. You can hold it alongside any other grant from the Generalitat Valenciana or from other public or private bodies. It is awarded by the Generalitat Valenciana (the regional government of the Comunitat Valenciana in Spain) to the students with the best academic record in each year and degree programme. The total budget for 2024/2025 was 1.6 million euros.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You attend a university in the Comunitat Valenciana (public or private) or a higher arts-education centre there, in person rather than by distance learning.
  • Degree level: You are on a Bachelor's degree (Grado), including double degrees, or a higher artistic-studies degree. You cannot apply in your final year.
  • Credits passed: In 2024/2025 you enrolled in at least 60 ECTS credits (a full year) and passed all of them at the first attempt.
  • Grades: Your average was at least 8.0 in sciences, health sciences, or engineering and architecture, or at least 9.0 in arts and humanities, social and legal sciences, or artistic studies.
  • No earlier degree: You do not already hold an equal or higher qualification.
  • Nationality and residence: You are a Spanish or EU citizen, or a non-EU national with a residence permit. EU citizens must be permanently settled or working in Spain. Your main registered address must be in the Comunitat Valenciana.

How to apply

You apply online through the Generalitat Valenciana's electronic office (Sede Electronica). You submit the GV-TALENT application form and a family-details form. Applications for 2024/2025 ran from 29 April to 20 May 2026 and that window is now closed. Selection is competitive: one scholarship goes to the top average in each year and degree at each university, with extra scholarships added per 100 enrolled students where the budget allows.

How realistic are your chances?

Normally only the single best record in your year and degree wins, so your real competition is the other top students on your exact course, not the whole region. The high grade cut-off (8.0 or 9.0 depending on your field) and passing every credit at the first attempt already narrow the field sharply. If you are at or near the top of your programme, your prospects are genuinely good, and a lower family income also helps break any tie.
