Latsis Foundation postgraduate scholarship

You will receive up to 45,000 EUR to fund a Master’s degree programme abroad. The amount depends on the duration of your programme: approximately 16,875 EUR for 9 months, 22,500 EUR for 12 months, 33,750 EUR for 18 months and 45,000 EUR for a full 24 months. You can use the money towards tuition fees or living costs, whichever is more helpful to you. The funding comes from the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, a Greek charity that funds postgraduate studies. For the period from 2026 to 2027, there were up to 10 scholarships, all in the fields of engineering and computer science, for example robotics, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, 3 3D printing, quantum computing, cybersecurity and bioinformatics.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You are starting your first Master’s degree. PhD programmes and integrated degree programmes are not eligible for funding.
• Field of study: You are studying engineering or computer science. The exact specialisms are determined each year.
• Where you study: You are studying full-time on a face-to-face course at a university in Greece or another European country, including the United Kingdom.
• Your background: You have completed a Greek upper secondary school (lyceum) and hold a bachelor’s degree from a Greek or recognised foreign university. Students in their final year may apply even before they have graduated.
• Grades: You have top marks: at least 8/10 at a Greek university, 2:1 in the United Kingdom, 16/20 in France, or the equivalent in other countries.
• Living apart from home: Your parents’ permanent residence is in a different place from where you will be studying.
• Timing: Your Master’s programme begins in the academic year in which the course prospectus is published.

How to apply

Please register on the Foundation’s scholarship portal and submit the application form and supporting documents online. For 2026-2027, the application deadline was 27 February. The selection committee will assess your academic achievements and may invite some applicants to an interview, although not everyone will be invited.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is presented to only a small group of people. Candidates must have a Greek school-leaving certificate, excellent grades in their undergraduate studies and a Master’s degree in specific fields of engineering and computer science, meaning that the pool of eligible applicants is small. However, as there are only around 10 places available each year for this prestigious award, suitable candidates still face fierce competition. Outstanding grades, together with a clear and well-reasoned choice of degree programme and university – supported by evidence of your social and financial circumstances – are what set applicants apart from the rest.
