School of Law International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship

You will receive a £2,500 tuition fee reduction per year (about 2,915 EUR), which will be deducted directly from your tuition fee invoice. You are eligible to receive this in both the second and third years of your law degree. This amounts to up to £5,000 (approximately 5,830 EUR) over the two years, provided you meet the academic requirements each year. The grant is awarded by the Faculty of Law at the University of Leeds and is aimed at international students paying overseas tuition fees.

Who can apply

• University and subject: You are studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) at the School of Law, University of Leeds. These include the combined degree programmes ‘Law with German’, ‘Law with French’ or ‘Law with Spanish’, as well as the two-year postgraduate programme in Law.
• Fee status: You are considered an international student who pays tuition fees for international students.
• Year of study: You must be enrolled in your second or third year of study in September of the relevant year. If you are entering your second or third year directly, you cannot apply; a year of work experience or a year spent abroad will not be taken into account.
• Grades: You achieved a grade point average of at least 60% in your penultimate year of study.
• No sponsor: No sponsor will cover your tuition fees.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they have international student status.

How to apply

There is no application form. All eligible students studying International Law will be assessed automatically, and you will be notified as to whether you have been awarded the scholarship. You cannot defer the offer to another year.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed at a very specific group. You must already be an international student studying law at Leeds, be entering your second or third year of study, have an average grade of 60% and not have a sponsor. If you meet all these criteria, the scholarship will be awarded automatically; there is therefore no selection process. The only requirement is that you maintain a grade point average of at least 60% each year.
