About this scholarship
UK Undergraduate Scholarship at LSE
You get about 5,850 EUR per year (£5,000) for three years, so up to roughly 17,500 EUR (£15,000) in total, for full-time study. The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) funds these awards from private donations. For 2026/27 there are six awards for UK-based students starting an undergraduate degree.
Who can apply
- Fee status: You count as a UK student for tuition fees. This covers British students and those settled in the UK.
- Admission: You already hold an LSE undergraduate offer, conditional or unconditional.
- Field of study: Any LSE undergraduate programme.
- Financial need: You can show you need the money. Need comes first in the decision, and grades count after that.
How to apply
Once you hold an LSE offer, submit the LSE Undergraduate Scholarship application form with one academic reference. One application considers you for every LSE scholarship you qualify for. The deadline for UK-fee applicants in 2026/27 was 1 June 2026, and decisions go out by email by the end of August. Late applications are not accepted.
How realistic are your chances?
With only six awards for a large pool of UK offer holders across all programmes, this is competitive. Because need comes first, you stand out if you can clearly show you need the support and also have strong grades. Apply as soon as you hold your offer, since late applications are turned away.
