About this scholarship
Prince William Scholarship
You get your full tuition fees paid plus a fixed sum for living costs for the one-year Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. For 2026-27 the MPP course fee alone is 54,450 GBP (about 63,000 EUR), and this award covers all of it. One scholarship is given each year, funded by Leonard Blavatnik together with donors to University College and the University of Oxford. As a Prince William Scholar you also join University College, where you can apply for extra support.
Who can apply
- Course: You are applying for, and get admitted to, the one-year full-time Master of Public Policy (MPP) at Oxford.
- Residence: The UK is your normal home.
- Grades: You show outstanding academic results or clear potential.
- Ambition: You have the potential to become a future British leader, whatever your background.
- Field of study: Your first degree can be in any subject, as long as you are admitted to the MPP.
How to apply
There is no separate application for this scholarship. First you apply and get admitted to the MPP. Aim for the December deadline to be considered for funding. Everyone who receives an MPP offer is then sent a scholarship questionnaire, which you usually return within about a week.
How realistic are your chances?
Only one Prince William Scholarship is awarded each year, and it goes to a single UK-resident MPP candidate with outstanding academic strength, so it is highly competitive. Your first hurdle is winning an MPP place at all, and applying by the December deadline keeps you in the running for funding. Most MPP students receive some scholarship support, but this specific named award is a long shot even for strong applicants.
