What you get

The Brittany region pays up to 3,000 EUR towards the fees of a vocational training course you choose yourself. The money goes straight to the training provider, based on how regularly you attend, so you do not receive it in hand. On top of this, you can get a monthly living allowance of 411 EUR to 987 EUR, worked out from the length of your course and your family's taxable income. Fixed meal and travel amounts are added on top, based on how far you live from the training site. If you raise one or more children under 12 on your own, you can add a childcare supplement of 80 EUR to 120 EUR.

Two conditions apply to the fee money. You must use up your CPF (Compte Personnel de Formation, your personal training account) first, and the region only pays the rest. If you are both a jobseeker and self-employed, your training insurance fund must pay first.

Who can apply

• Your situation: You are registered with France Travail Bretagne (the French jobcentre), or you are on a Contrat de Sécurisation Professionnelle (a support scheme after redundancy).
• Age and advisor: You are over 26 and followed by a careers advisor. Or you are 18 to 26, have been out of school for over a year (6 months for level 3 and 4 courses), and are followed by a careers advisor.
• Residence: You have lived in Brittany for more than 6 months before your course starts.
• Course level: The training leads to a recognised national qualification (RNCP), from level 3 (CAP, a vocational certificate) up to level 6 (Bachelor or Master 1). Master 2 (level 7) courses are not covered.
• Work history for higher levels: For courses above the Baccalaureat (level 4), you have at least 8 quarters of paid work.
• Where it runs: The course takes place in Brittany, unless a level 3 or 4 course is not offered there. The provider is QUALIOPI-certified, or for universities, accredited by Hcéres.
• Type of course: The course is not already paid by the region, not an apprenticeship, and not in coaching, therapy, health or wellbeing.
• Priority: You are handled with priority if you have a disability, no qualification, or special family duties (single parent, disabled child, family carer).

How to apply

First get your training project validated by your Mission Locale, France Travail, Cap emploi or RSA support service. Then pick a training provider, who submits the request for you through the regional portal at aides.bretagne.bzh before your course begins. You can apply for the living allowance until 31 December 2028. A complete file is usually processed in about 15 days.

How realistic are your chances?

This is regional support with clear conditions, not a competition. If you are a registered jobseeker living in Brittany and your chosen RNCP course meets the rules, you are on track. The tight filters (Brittany residence, an eligible course, a QUALIOPI provider) do most of the sorting, and jobseekers with a disability or no existing qualification get priority. Get your project validated early and have your provider submit before the course start date, since a request filed too late cannot be funded.
