About this scholarship

What the Sciences Po Lille mobility grant gives you

You get a one-off grant of up to 2,500 EUR to help pay for a study year or internship abroad. The amount is built from three parts that add up:

  • A social part of 1,000 EUR if you already receive a CROUS state grant (French student aid based on family income).
  • A cost-of-living part of 900 EUR for more expensive countries or 450 EUR for cheaper ones.
  • A fixed travel part of 600 EUR.

For a single semester abroad, a fifth-year placement or an end-of-studies internship, the totals are lower. The social part drops to 500 EUR and the cost-of-living part to 450 or 250 EUR, while travel stays at 600 EUR, giving up to 1,550 EUR in all. If you show proof of a low-carbon return trip, you can also get an extra "green mobility" bonus at the end. The money comes from Sciences Po Lille's own budget.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled at Sciences Po Lille (Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Lille).
  • Where you go: You are going abroad for a study period or an internship.
  • Family income: Your family quotient is 25,000 EUR or less. This is your household's total gross income divided by the number of tax shares.
  • Home country rule: Any nationality can apply, but you cannot use the grant to go to your own country of origin.
  • Mixed year in third year: If your third year is part study and part internship, you can get this grant only once, split across the two semesters.

How to apply

You send your application file by email to the outgoing-mobility office at Sciences Po Lille. Include a letter explaining your project and the financial-aid form. For third-year mobility in 2025-2026, the deadline is 3 May 2026, and the school's International Mobility Commission decides the awards at its June meeting.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is limited to Sciences Po Lille students who go abroad and whose family income falls under the 25,000 EUR threshold, so the pool is already small. If you meet that income limit, are enrolled at the school and submit a clear file on time, your prospects are good. Because a commission decides each year, applying early and writing a convincing project letter matters most.
