About this scholarship
UCL-United World Colleges and International Students' House Scholarship
You get a full package to study for a Bachelor's degree at University College London (UCL): all your tuition fees plus a living allowance of about 8,400 EUR per year (GBP 7,280). This runs for three years, or up to four years for longer programmes. You also get free accommodation in a shared twin room at International Students' House in London for up to three years, your Tier 4 student visa costs paid back, and one economy return flight to the UK at the start and end of your degree. The scholarship is renewed each year as long as your studies go well. UCL, United World Colleges (UWC) and International Students' House run it jointly, and only two are awarded.
Who can apply
- Your school: You are in your final year of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma at a United World College. Students from Waterford Kamhlaba UWC who finished the year before can also apply.
- Degree: You are applying for a full-time Bachelor's degree at UCL, in any subject.
- Where you live: You live outside the UK and would pay the higher overseas fee rate.
- Financial need: You cannot pay for a UCL degree from your own means. This is the main selection criterion.
How to apply
First apply for a place at UCL through UCAS by 14 January 2026. You must do this to be eligible. You cannot apply for the scholarship directly. Instead, your UWC counsellor picks up to three suitable students per college and forwards their applications. Your completed application goes to your counsellor by 23 February 2026, and results are announced by mid-May 2026.
How realistic are your chances?
This award is cut very narrowly: only UWC students who need financial support and win a UCL place can apply, and just two scholarships exist each year. Your own counsellor first has to pick you as one of up to three candidates, so the field is small but selective. If you clearly meet all the conditions, can show real financial need and get your counsellor's backing early, your prospects are reasonable.
