What the scholarship covered

This was a full scholarship from the University of Bradford (UK) for international Master's students. In its last known round (2017/18) each award was worth about 29,000 EUR (around £25,000). It covered full tuition fees, accommodation in the university's "The Green" halls, and about 4,900 EUR (£4,200) a year for living costs. The living costs were paid in three instalments in October, January and April. The university gave out 2 of these scholarships per year. It helped students from countries hit by political crisis, war or natural disaster who could not otherwise afford to study abroad.

Who could apply

• Degree level: You were starting a full-time taught Master's programme at the University of Bradford.
• Field of study: Any subject was allowed, except the MBA.
• Previous studies: You had finished (or were about to finish) a first degree at the minimum level required for your country. Your full undergraduate results had to be available when you applied.
• English: You met the university's English language requirements.
• Home country: You came from one of the listed crisis-affected countries, such as Afghanistan, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Iraq, Eritrea, Myanmar or Sri Lanka. In exceptional cases, applicants from other countries could be considered. Applicants from Pakistan were handled under a separate scheme.
• Financial need: You paid for your own studies and could not afford them yourself.
• Age: No age limit.

How to apply

You applied through the university's online form before enrolling, and you did not need an offer of a place first. The last known deadline was 15 May 2017. The selection panel reviewed applications in June, and only successful applicants were notified.
