Norinska Foundation grant

For each completed semester of a forestry degree, you will receive 5,000 SEK per semester (about 435 EUR). A Swedish foundation, established in 1954 by Anna and Anders Norin, pays this amount to support small-scale, agriculture-integrated forestry in the Nordanstig region. The board may also approve funding for shorter forestry courses.

Who can apply

• Where you live: You are registered as a resident of the municipality of Nordanstig (Nordanstigs kommun) in Sweden.
• Field of study: You are studying forestry or taking a course in forestry.
• Progress: You must have studied forestry for at least one semester prior to applying.
• University: Any school is eligible. The funding is not tied to a specific school.
• Extra route if you need the money: If you are from the municipalities of Gnarp, Bergsjö, Hassela, Jättendal, Ilsbo or Harmanger, you can instead apply for financial support towards the costs of a forestry degree. To do so, you must provide evidence that you need the money to complete your studies.

How to apply

Download the application form from the Foundation’s website and post it to the office in Gnarp. Submit your application once you have completed the semester.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed at a very small target group: you must live in a small Swedish municipality and be studying forestry. Very few people are eligible to apply at all. If you meet these criteria and can provide evidence that you have completed a semester of forestry studies, your chances are good.
