Martin Poser Memorial Fund

You will receive a one-off grant of up to 2,000 SEK (about 175 EUR) to support your training in an artistic, aesthetic or cultural field. Every year, a scholarship is awarded from a fund established in memory of Martin Poser (1909-1999), a German-Swedish painter, graphic artist and ceramist who maintained a summer studio in Marstrand on the west coast of Sweden. The artists Karin and Per-Olof Eklund manage the fund from this studio.

Who can apply

• Age: You are 25 or younger.
• What you do: You are undertaking training in an artistic, aesthetic or cultural field, such as fine art, music, dance, literature, theatre, musicals or writing.
• Where you study: It doesn’t matter where you study.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

Please contact the studio in Marstrand that manages the fund. The deadline is 15 October.

How realistic are your chances?

As only one prize is awarded each year and the sum is small, it is more of a modest, regional prize than a major scholarship. It is aimed exclusively at young people who are at the 25 level in their artistic training, so the pool of eligible applicants is limited. If you clearly fit this profile and can provide evidence of your artistic work or studies, a well-prepared application stands a good chance of success.
