What the BAO / EF scholarship gives you

You get a fully funded eight-week stay abroad: a 4-week English course followed by a 4-week internship, at one of EF's roughly 50 destinations worldwide. You improve your English and gain hands-on work experience abroad. The scholarship comes from a partnership between BAO, the Swedish banking-sector employers' association (now Finansarbetsgivarna), and EF (Education First), the education provider that runs the programme. You can combine it with CSN, the Swedish state study finance.

• Level: You study at a university or college in Sweden.
• Goal: You want to improve your English and gain work experience abroad.
• Field of study: Any subject is welcome.

You apply through EF's scholarship pages. If you are not selected, EF's study advisors can talk you through other ways to finance the trip.

How realistic are your chances?

The scholarship is open to any student at a Swedish university or college who wants to improve their English. That is a broad group, so expect real competition. What sets you apart is a strong, personal application that explains what you want from the stay and why you are the right candidate. Apply early and put effort into your motivation.
