Qred essay scholarship

You receive a one-time award of 10,000 SEK (about 880 EUR) for a bachelor's or master's thesis about entrepreneurship and small businesses. The money goes to the author or authors of the thesis, not as a monthly payment. It comes from Qred, a Swedish fintech company that lends money to small firms and wants to see more research on this topic. Qred awards it twice a year, once per semester, so you get more than one chance to apply.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at a Swedish university or college and can prove it with a current certificate of enrolment.
• Level: You are writing a bachelor's or master's thesis.
• Topic: Your thesis is about entrepreneurship or running a small business. This is the core requirement.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as your university is in Sweden.
• Identity check: You agree to let Qred verify your identity.

How to apply

You apply online through the scholarship page. Your application must include your research question with a short explanation of why it matters for businesses and the economy, your contact and study details, and the certificate of enrolment. A jury of Qred employees picks the winner. There is no interview, and the decision is final.

How realistic are your chances?

The target group is narrow: only students writing a Swedish thesis on entrepreneurship or small business qualify, so far fewer people apply than for open scholarships. The jury rewards an original research question on a topic that has barely been studied, which is the gap Qred set up the award to fill. If your thesis clearly fits that focus and takes a fresh angle, your prospects are good.
