Lund University travel scholarships

You get a one-off grant of up to 5,000 SEK (about 440 EUR) towards a trip that is part of your studies at Lund University. The money covers travel for things like collecting material for your thesis or essay, or going on an exchange abroad. It comes from Lund University's foundation administration, which pools several travel funds into one application. A few of these funds, such as the Reg läk dr Hartelius' and Nils Flensburgs funds, can award larger amounts.

Who can apply

• University: You are a Bachelor's or Master's student at Lund University.
• Purpose of the trip: The travel is part of your studies, for example an exchange semester or a trip to gather material for your degree project or essay.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as you study at Lund University.
• Grades and study pace: Only the credits you have earned at Lund University count. Your results and how fast you progress rank you against other applicants.
• Documents: You have proof of the trip's purpose, such as a letter of acceptance, a nomination letter or an invitation letter.

How to apply

You apply online through the university's scholarship system during the application window. It opens in February each year (next in February 2027). Submit one application per trip and upload the documents that prove its purpose. The amount you request does not affect your chances. Decisions usually come by email in April.

How realistic are your chances?

In spring 2026, 715 students applied and 85 got a scholarship, so roughly one in eight was funded. Being a Lund University student is the main filter, so the pool is competitive, and selection leans on your grades and study pace. A complete application with the right documents and strong results at Lund gives you the best shot.
