The Emil Heijne Foundation Fund

You will receive a financial grant to help with the care, upbringing or education of your child. The amount is determined on a case-by-case basis, taking your financial situation into account; there is no fixed amount. The fund is administered by the Swedish Bar Association (Sveriges advokatsamfund) and provides support to the children of Swedish lawyers who are in financial need.

Who can apply

• Family link: You are the child of a Swedish lawyer (advokat) who is currently practising, has retired or has died.
• Financial need: You are unable to cover the costs of your living expenses, upbringing or education from your own resources. You must provide evidence of this by submitting a statement of your income, expenditure, assets and liabilities, as well as your most recent tax return.
• What it funds: The money goes towards your care, upbringing or education, including a degree course.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply. The key requirement is that one parent is a Swedish lawyer.

How to apply

Please send your application by 30 October by email or post to the Swedish Bar Association in Stockholm. Please enclose a statement regarding your financial situation (a template is available for download) and a copy of your most recent tax return.

How realistic are your chances?

This fund is aimed at a small target group: you must be the child of a Swedish lawyer and demonstrate a genuine financial need. There are very few applicants. If you can clearly prove the family connection and demonstrate your need by providing the required financial evidence, your chances are good.
