About this scholarship
BP Undergraduate Scholarship
You get about 5,700 EUR (£5,000) per year for the full length of your bachelor's degree, normally three years. You study a science, technology, engineering or maths subject at the University of Nottingham in the UK. On top of the money, you join yearly activities on campus and at BP sites, including a two- to three-day event introducing the oil and gas industry. You can also apply early for BP's internship and graduate programmes. The scholarship is funded by the energy company BP, which pledged £800,000 over four years to support 10 new students each year.
Who can apply
- Level: You are studying for a bachelor's degree.
- University: You study at the University of Nottingham.
- Field of study: You study a STEM subject: science, technology, engineering or maths.
- Grades: You need strong results, as the award is based on academic merit.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship ran from 2012 to 2016, with only 10 new places a year in specific STEM subjects at one university. For a well-matched STEM student at Nottingham during those years, the narrow field meant reasonable prospects. Note that the programme was designed to end in 2016 and is no longer listed among current funding.
