How to apply
Applications must be submitted online via a form on the university’s sports website. There are two separate forms: one for cricket and netball players and one for all other sports. The application deadline is 24 July. For the team programmes in netball, cricket and triathlon, a trial session forms part of the selection process.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is aimed at genuine elite athletes, so you won’t be competing against the entire student body, but against people who are already competing at national or international level. If you’re part of a competitive sports team, have recently received honours as a representative and are studying at Leeds, you’re definitely in the target group and your prospects are good. Places are limited and competition is fierce, so a strong, well-documented sporting career is key. Applying early is advisable, as places are snapped up quickly.
